MEASURING
Forearm Length: Measure from the lateral epicondyle to the fifth metacarpo-phalangeal joint.

FITTING
When fitting "sling type" immobilizers, caution should be taken not to make the strap adjustments too short forcing the shoulder into a shrugged position. The shoulder should be maintained in a neutral position and relaxed into the sling portion of the immobilizer. A properly fitted sling should be long enough to fully support the hand and wrist but not cover the fingers.

My arm is in a cast - had a nasty slip and fall accident and wearing this sling does help, as much as I don't like to wear something that screams "I'm Injured!", I've noticed people cutting me a wide berth when I'm out and wearing the sling and if it keeps peopel form bumping into me and putting further strain on my arm, it's done its job.

The shoulder support for my arm fracture has been very nice. Lots of ones I tried at my PT office were uncomfortable - having my arm in a casrt is not the greatest feeling, but being able to use this sling has difinitely helped.
