Big help for me when I had a broken thumb and the doctor said I needed a brace with a thumb spica - something to kep my thumb seperated from my hand to make it heal right. It's a pain to wear, and I still have some pain in thumb, but my thumb joint isn't as swollen as it was before I used this brace. Not too easy to put on, but it works.
